Poem 67

I saw your sun's face sink
to a pool of blood

I saw countless eyes
with no life upon them

I saw the soldier carry
one more bleeding lie

I saw a room of righteous
justify your doom

I saw paper covered wall
scream silver truth

I saw a nameless dead but
not one explanation

I saw the child's eyes
see their mother torn

I've seen this all happen before
as yet again the elite stand
untouched throughout it all

i wrote this poem after seeing the simple fantastic exhibition HUMAN RIGHTS HUMAN WRONGS by Marcelo Brodsky.
At the photographers gallery London
